The Rays have announced that pitcher Wilking Rodriguez and outfielder Rich Thompson have cleared waivers and will be outrighted to Triple-A.Rodriguez posted a 5.56 ERA in 7 Single-A starts this season. Thompson appeared in 23 games with the Rays this year, hitting .091 in 24 plate appearances.
Analysis: Both of these guys haven't been able to put up good minor league numbers so it isn't surprising that they cleared waivers.
