The Rangers have announced that pitcher Tyler Tufts has cleared waivers and will be outrighted to Triple-A.Tufts appeared in 19 minor league games in 2012 before undergoing stomach surgery. Texas now has one free space on its 40 man roster.
Analysis: Judging by his minor league stats, Tufts looks like he was actually a decent prospect during the first year or two of his minor league career. 2012 was really the only disappointing season for him, and he is still 25 years old so he may get a shot at pitching in the majors next year.
