Redmond does not have any experience managing in the Major Leagues, but managed the Dunedin Blue Jays of the Florida State League in 2011-2012, leading them to a 77-60 record in 2011, and a 78-55 record in 2012.
Analysis: This is the right move for the Marlins. Barely anyone knows who Redmond is, but that is exactly why it is the right move. The Marlins do not need any more media attention, and bringing in Redmond, who playing seven seasons with Florida, is the right choice here. Supposedly he has some unconventional methods of doing things, so it will be interesting to see how he leads his club in 2013.
