Adam Lind placed on outright waivers

The Blue Jays have placed Adam Lind on outright waivers. If Lind is claimed, the claiming team will have to pay for Lind's contract and options for 2014-2016. If he goes unclaimed, he will remain with Toronto and will be taken off the 40 man roster. Lind hit 35 home runs in 2009 and earned a four year contract extension. Outright waivers are irrevocable, meaning that the Jays would not be able to pull Lind back if he gets claimed. Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com believes that there is "no chance he gets claimed."

Analysis: What a shame, Lind was such a great player a few years ago and he has played poorly ever since he signed his four year contract extension in 2009. Even though Jon Heyman believes that he won't be claimed, I believe there may be a chance he gets claimed because some team may be desperate for a 1B and when Lind is performing to his full potential, he is worth more than $6 million a year. He has high potential but hes a big gamble for teams with not that much money. I hope he gets claimed so he gets a chance of scenery because he can really hit and its exciting to see him when his bat is hot.
