Could Josh Hamilton make history?

So many times in baseball history do us fans see a player who gets off to a hot start, and question if he is capable of breaking Barry Bonds' single season home run record he set in 2001. Josh Hamilton has gotten off to a fast start this season, hitting 18 home runs in 138 at bats during a 31 game span. If Hamilton keeps up this pace he'll certainly break Bonds' home run record. I do not think he'll continue this tear. Honestly, I believe he is playing this well because it is his contract year and he wants a big contract in the off-season. If he breaks the record, that would be great because it is sad to have Bonds as the single season home run leader because of his suspected steroid use and his attitude on the field. Hamilton has also had some problems, but they were all off the field. He's always an issue with drugs and alcohol and had an incident last season which involved a Rangers fan dying after reaching for a ball that Hamilton threw into the crowd and falling over the railing. Overall, I think Hamilton will probably end the season with 40-45 home runs and get an overwhelming contract from a team not named the Rangers in the off-season.
