Astros willing to deal Wandy Rodriguez

The Astros are willing to listen to offers to left-handed pitcher Wandy Rodriguez, and teams have been watching Rodriguez lately. The Yankees, Giants, and Blue Jays had scouts in attendance for Rodriguez's start against the Royals last night.

The 33 year old pitcher has a 3.35 ERA this season. He is set to earn $10 million this year, $13 million next year and there is a $14 million vesting option for 2014. The option for 2014 becomes a player option if the Astros trade Rodriguez.

Analysis: Well, we all expected this. Rodriguez's name has been a popular name discussed at the trade deadline for the last few years. Obviously, trading him would get a nice prospect or two back in return. Houston doesn't need Rodriguez because they are clearly not contending. He will ultimately end up getting traded this year without a doubt, and I can definitely see a team like the Blue Jays coming in and acquiring the veteran.
