The Oakland A's have placed pitcher Brandon McCarthy on the 15 day DL with shoulder soreness. McCarthy last pitched on June 20th, which was his first game back from his previous DL stint.Analysis: Ho-hum, another DL stint for McCarthy. The guy has never been able to stay healthy and the A's definitely need to trade him next month. He doesn't gather many strikeouts but keeps his ERA down and has emerged as the team's ace (wow.. impressive (sarcasm)). As you can see I'm not a huge Brandon McCarthy fan but hopefully he can recover from this ongoing shoulder soreness that has forced him to miss several starts this season.
