Diamondbacks sign Hernandez to an extension

The Diamondbacks have agreed to terms with pitcher David Hernandez on a two-year contract extension. Hernandez has posted a 2.90 ERA in 31 innings out of the bullpen this season.

Hernandez came over to Arizona in the Mark Reynolds trade two years ago. He has turned himself into an above-average setup man since he has arrived in Arizona. He would've been arbitration eligible after this season.

Analysis: Hernandez has been a very good under-the-radar player for the D'Backs this season. This is a very good signing by GM Kevin Towers. Hernandez has completely changed his career around ever since he got traded to Arizona two years ago.
