Alcides Escobar has been a semi-bust for the Royals ever since he came over in the Zack Greinke trade a few years ago. He has always been known as a defensive specialist and a guy who couldn't really hit. He is having a quiet breakout season this year, hitting .295 in 64 games played. Escobar is only owned in 43% of ESPN leagues and 36% of Yahoo! leagues. He has provided a good source for average and steals. Escobar is in the top five for MLB shortstops in both average and steals so far this season, which is impressive. Overall, the shortstop position is pretty thin and with the recent blow to Troy Tulowitzki, I feel like Escobar would be a decent replacement.
