The Blue Jays have designated pitcher Andrew Carpenter for assignment. He only appeared in two games for Toronto this season, and his last appearance was on July 14.Carpenter has played in the majors for parts of the last five seasons. He only has 26.1 innings pitched to his credit, posting a 8.54 ERA during that span.
