Small moves: MacDougal, Olsen

Olsen's career has been downhill since his days with Florida

  • The Cubs have released pitcher Mike MacDougal. Chicago signed him to a minor league deal in May after the Dodgers released him. He signed a one year, $1 million deal with the Dodgers before the season and posted a 7.85 ERA in 19 appearances in the Cubs' Triple-A affiliate this year.
  • The White Sox released left handed pitcher Scott Olsen. Olsen signed with the White Sox on a minor league deal back in January. Olsen has battled many injuries over the past few years, and just appeared in three minor league games this year before being released.
