Nick Swisher may seek $100 million in off-season

Yankees outfielder Nick Swisher has told reporters that he might seek a contract this fall that would exceed $100 million. He said that Jayson Werth's contract is "a great deal for him." Werth signed a seven year, $126 million deal with Washington two off-seasons ago. The Yankees haven't talked to Swisher about a possible deal, but he is interested in staying in New York.

"Everyone knows how much I love New York. I've been very local about that. This place has been so amazing for me," Swisher said.

Analysis: Swisher will definitely be a hot commodity this fall, but I highly doubt that he would get $100 million from a club. We all know that every year a team breaks the bank and makes a questionable signing, but giving Swisher all of that money isn't smart. I know one thing, the Yankees are definitely not giving him that money because they need to lower their payroll to $189 million for luxury tax purposes. I can see Swisher getting possibly a four year deal worth $55 million.
