The Phillies have placed catcher Carlos Ruiz on the 15 day disabled list with plantar fasciitis in his left foot. The MRI he took also shows a partial tear, which will sideline him for four to six weeks. In a corresponding move, the Phillies recalled Hector Luna from Triple-A.Ruiz has been enjoying a fantastic season, hitting .335 with 14 homers, 58 RBI, and 28 doubles. He was selected to the All-Star game as well earlier in the season.
