Tigers designate Kelly for assignment

The Tigers have designated utility player Don Kelly for assignment. The move creates space for outfielder Andy Dirks, who has been reinstated from the disabled list.

Kelly has appeared in 64 games for Detroit this year, playing every position except pitcher and catcher. He has hit .175 in 116 plate appearances.
