Tigers release Matt Young

The Tigers have released utility player Matt Young. Young had one double with nine strikeouts in 10 at-bats earlier in the season with Detroit. The Tigers designated him for assignment and outrighted him to Triple-A earlier in the month. Young hit .212 at the Triple-A level this season.
